Just the facts More union members in public sector (government) than private sector For manufacturing, union membership decreased from 11.4% in 2008 to 10.9% in 2009 Labor claims to have spent $400 million in 2008 political cycle If EFCA passes, $1.7 billion in potential political expenditures over 10 years

Labor law reform – EFCA update (Employee Free Choice Act) EFCA (S. 560/H.R. 1409) eliminates secret ballot elections and imposes mandatory binding arbitration Legislation is currently chilled Rumors of a “compromise” bill with “quickie” elections, union access to employer property and mandatory binding arbitration
