3 Since 2005 WIN France decided to focus on c ommunicating about nuclear jobs and careers with young people WIN Ile de France volunteer menbers are professionals working in the nuclear sector (research and industry, medicine or energy generation). WIN Ile de France has a booth in several forums for high schools or participate on job days within schools. WIN Ile de France volunteers meet young people, their teachers and parents in order to motivate young girls and their parents toward scientific career patterns From this experiences, skepticism toward sciences and the nuclear industry, the need of a comprehensive set of educational tools has appeared. 4 Educational tools project WIN Ile de France volunteers first started by identifying what were the most popular questions asked and information searched for by young people we met. This was done collectively under the control of one project leader, Emmanuelle Gaillard Lecanu The questions address three topics 1.Scientific and Technical questions 2.Studies and related jobs 3.Sources of information With the support of WiN France and of SFEN (the French Nuclear Society), we started a comprehensive project. Initiated at a local level in Ile de France, it became a national WiN France project

5 Scientific and Technical questions We worked on the selection of a set of questions, the wording was validated by teenagers Questions addressed: What is radioactivity? Its applications in everyday life The link between radiation and nuclear professions: the risk to employees, how to protect themselves the fears expressed (risks, waste, lack of information,…) nuclear and renewable energies (low carbon energies) We wrote answers to those questions We checked that the wording was accessible for teenagers, Questions and answers were validated by WiN France board members and SFEN communication :Francis Sorin
