4 Exam pre-requisites PI – personal information CV PR - How to make a good presentation IWA – instructions for writing an abstract Writing an abstract WRP – instructions for writing a research paper CCE – conference circular (write a conference circular for a conference from your branch or a hypothetical conference ) DS – dissertation summary

5 Exam pre-requisites All pieces of homework – about standard A4; All pieces of homework will be sent to the teacher in an attachment with the name of the author and homework, e.g.: sikolova_CV; If the teacher send the homework back, it has to be corrected and re-sent to the teacher; Never forget to have spell-check function ACTIVE.

6 Exam pre-requisites Prepare and present 2 presentations in the class (about 10 -15 minutes, topic up to you, but it has to be understandable for the whole class including the teacher, in PPT) Read 150-200 pages of text in English. Prepare the third presentation to be delivered at the exam (about 5 minutes).

7 Basic principles You are expected to do your own work and display honesty and academic integrity. Do not copy and paste. Please use English only during classes. Please do your best to contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere. Your active participation in classes will make a huge difference in your learning.

8 Basic principles It is impossible for the teacher to design lessons meeting everybody’s expectations and preferences. Be tolerant. Do not hesitate to suggest changes in the content of the classes. But remember, they have to be acceptable for all the class.

9 Basic principles Listen and respect the opinions of the others. Be open-minded.

10 Lesson content – recommendation and discussion Coursebook? Which one? Alternatively: Technical English Email English Academic English Discussions Current news (listening, reading, speaking, writing)

11 Students’ Fill in the form. Introduce yourself to the class (family, studies, qualifications, future ambitions, expectations…..).
