2. English grade 11 focuses on a study of fiction and non-fiction literature, of different styles of writing and includes individual as well as group activities. Thus, students are required to interact in English on a daily basis. It is crucial that each student be responsible for his or her class work, notes, evaluations, and class attendance.

6. 3 reading comps remove one (lowest grade) BTW: Reading is fun!

7. Writing Practices (Formative) You and I will track your writing progress throughout the semester This should allow you to grow as a writer AND to get better grades as the semester continues

8. Three Writing Evaluations (300 words each; -3 pts each spelling mistake; -2 pts each grammar mistake): 1) First Essay (choice between 7 subjects) 2) Night Essay (reflective essay about the content of the book)-will count as your novel test 3) Professional Essay (choose one) : Career choice college application scholarship application

9. Oral Presentations(Power-Point presentations): 1) Artist/Athlete (formative OP) : Chance to practice before the real evaluation ! Minimum 2 minutes-individual 2) Night (summative OP) : research on a specific person or event from the Concentration Camps during WWII-minimum 4 minutes each-groups 3) Movie Critique (summative OP): minimum 3 minutes-individual

10. Required Materials Paper, binder, pen, pencil, eraser, liquid paper, USB… YOU are responsible to bring your material to class…
