9.  Mechanical is the energy of moving things. Anything in motion has mechanical energy.

11. Light energy comes from the energy of electromagnetic waves. Things such as candles, light bulbs and the sun give off light energy.

13. Sound energy is produced by a vibrating object. Sound energy from a radio or a guitar travels in waves to your eardrum.

15. When an electric current flows, there is electrical energy. Electrical energy is a secondary source. Its power comes from other types of energy.

16.  Heating or cooling our homes, cooking, drying our hair or clothes, heating water, powering our televisions and computers.  The list could go on and on. We use electricity everyday!

17. Heat energy is also called thermal energy. It comes from the movement of atoms and molecules in matter. A flask of hot water has more heat energy than a flask of cold water because the molecules are moving more quickly.
