Plan Carefully To meet all graduation requirements and personal goals, each student must look at his/her program from freshman year on, selecting classes carefully.

Earning High School Credit One school year is divided into 2 semesters Student takes 6 classes per semester.5 credit is earned per class, per semester 3 credits possible per semester 6 credits per year 22. 5 credits to graduate

Math Requirements Three years high school math credit Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II Smarter Balance Exam in Math Special circumstances handled with IEP managers and counselors

Additional Requirements/Testing 40 Hours Community Service End of Course Exam - Biology Smarter Balanced Assessment: ELA/Math High School and Beyond Plan Senior Culminating Project Washington State History ( usually satisfied in grade 7 or 8)

Four-Year College Entrance Minimum Requirements 4 years English 3 years Social Studies 3 years Math (through Algebra 2) Senior Year Math/Quantitative course 2 years Lab Science (1 yr Algebra-based) 2 years World Language 1 year Fine/Performing Arts Must pass three year-long college prep courses each year of high school

Support Classes Schedules may change based on individual academic needs. Elective choices will be replaced by your counselor. Examples of these courses include: READ 180, Algebra I Support, and Study Skills

Highlander Home and more... 35 minutes of support, 4 days per week Targeted Interventions for academic remediation Flexibility two times per week to see teachers Homework Help – Two days after school with supervision and transportation Math Night - weekly session, Wed 3:30-5:00

Important Reminders Students are “reserving” spaces in classes and are making a commitment to take those classes. Minimal class changes will be made prior to the start of school to facilitate proper level placement or scheduling errors. Students requesting honors classes are making a full year-long commitment to honors level work. If a requested class does not fit in a student’s schedule, an alternate will be scheduled. Please choose alternate classes carefully.

Each student will receive: A SC registration form, pre-printed with courses and directions for entering courses. Hard copy of Registration Guide District Residency Form
