RESULTS CIO and a System Administrator CIO is oversee entire IT dept. (less technical background) System Administrator is lower on the hierarchical structure, and great deal of expertise in the area. Sys Admin will perform tasks of the CIO in smaller organizations (the confusion)

CONCLUSIONS A Chief Information Officer should have strong organizational, management, leadership, communication, and people skills. *Customer Svc* Their daily duties include managing IT personnel, budgeting, and ensuring the systems stay secure. Understand how the roles of the Chief Information Officer and a System Administrator can be confused.

RECOMMENDATIONS I believe the role of the Chief Information Officer is vital for maintaining the company’s IT Resources. They have the opportunity to interact with individuals ranging from the CEO to low level support and also outside organizations like vendors.
