3 SRSA PREAMBLE “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else can. Sport can awaken hope where there was previously only despair.” (N Mandela) Sport is recognised by the UN as a right which all Governments should make available to their people. Worldwide sport strategies are focused on increasing levels of sport and recreation participation as well as achieving success in high profile sports. These strategic corner stones are also reflected in the SRSA vision.
