2 NERS Lifestyle Management Programme The programme is aimed at people who may require a hip or knee replacement who are overweight with a BMI of over 35. With the multi-disciplinary team of a physiotherapist, dietician and exercise professional they hope once people complete the 32 week programme of exercise and diet they will be healthier and fitter. Some of the individuals might still require surgery in the future but by becoming fitter and losing weight they are less likely to suffer post operative complications and some might not require the surgery at all following the programme.
