4. #4 – James Madison Was raised in Orange County, Virginia. Attended College of New Jersey – later renamed Princeton. Passes the bar exam – becomes a lawyer. 1776: Helped write the Virginia state Constitution. 1778-1779: served on the Council of State in Virginia. 1780-1783: served as a delegate from Virginia to the Confederation Congress.

He writes the Star Spangled Banner. It is only a poem at first. It is made into a song around the 1900’s.
