Linac and Booster Shutdown Readiness Linac –Laser Notcher In the fabrication process may not be ready when scheduled for the first week of the shutdown Booster –Anode supplies Testing underway on the first Anode supply Second should be built by the start shutdown –Installed by middle/end shutdown –RF cavities Work in progress: we should have 20 cavities in place at the end of the shutdown* Currently at 17: –1 cavity will be ready end of May –2 cavities should be ready by the end of the shutdown 11/4/14C. Main Injector/Recycler Shutdown Readiness RR TSP to Ion pump conversion –Cable shipment (~120K ft) Will receive first shipment this week, Will have all the cable in hand by first week in June –Ion pump shipment First 100 pumps will be delivered by end of June Remaining 72 pumps will by delivered by end of July –Misc components all here by end of June Stands/Seals/bolts/ect. –Drill base assemble 1 of 2 done –Acquired all of the Tevatron 30 l/s power supply Power supplies have been relocated into new rack locations –CIA create modification are underway RR 307 Beam Pipe replacement –Spool piece is fabricated and ready to go. BNB Shutdown Readiness Cable pulls for MI12 Instrumentation Interlock system modification –Cables for Safety System Gates We have in hand in hand –Gates system Waiting on Safety to verify gate positions We have the Safety System Interlock boxes/Keytree/misc We have a gate design and its ready to go out to vender –Procedure changes need to be made/reviewed –Software changes to the Safety System need to be done/tested 11/4/14C. What's Left to Schedule Local and global power outages –Potential impact on the order of 3-4 days to overall schedule FESS Maintenance work –Minimal impact to accelerator work NuMI Horn/Target Inspection –Alignment resource already over booked Need to access level of impact to upstream machines/jobs Safety System Test –Semi-Annual test potential impact on the order of 1-2 days to overall schedule RR 421-429 Loss issue –Looks to be an alignment issue Will require Alignment and possibly mechanical modifications 11/4/14C. Competing for Resources Magnet storage –Having difficulty getting storage space for the magnets being pulled from current beam line. Magnet Removal List: –MI ILAM (4) –CMags (3) –EPB trims 20 inch(1) –EPB trims 35 inch(3) –EPB trim 40 inch(1) –EPB (8) Will be stored in A0 Transfer Hall –3Q120s (4) Machine shop –We are starting to get our requests complete that were submitted prior to the LCLS-2 work beginning, ~ 1.5 months late Remaining request are being submitted to outside sources Without a increase in priority, it not clear what we do during the shutdown… 11/4/14C.
