2 Essential Questions How does a PLC work as a data team to organize data from common assessments? How does a PLC Data Team analyze data? How will the team use assessment data to improve student outcomes?

5 Step 1 Was the assessment high quality? –Was the type of assessment a good match for the learning target? –Were the questions good quality? –Were enough questions included to provide an adequate sampling? –Were the questions unbiased? Step 2 Gather classroom data, assemble it on a master grid and duplicate for team review of results. Be sure to attach a copy to this reflection form. Step 3 Briefly describe the unit assessment and learning targets: Common Assessment Reflections

6 Step 4 Create a graphic representation of the data Step 5 Identify areas for team discussion: As a team, which targets from the assessment require more attention? As a team, which students did not master which targets? As a team, which classrooms require additional support? As an individual teacher, which area was my lowest and how can I improve in that area. Step 6 Create and explain a team plan of action to address the needs of students who’ve not mastered the required targets

7 Activity As a team, review the following results: Seventh Grade Common Assessment—Integers Team Results Classroom D’s Results by Student Classroom D’s Results by Student and Target Answer the “Common Assessment Reflection Questions” as a team.

8 Data Team Activity Discussion As a team, which targets from the assessment require more attention? As a team, which students did not master which targets? As a team, which classrooms require additional support? As an individual teacher, which area was my lowest, and how can I improve in that area? What will be our team’s plan of action to address the results?

15 Desired Outcomes of Data Teams Focus on more than test scores and include factors that are within the control of teachers Provide focus and eliminate the clutter Be able to answer “Which students are not meeting standards in _______?” Establish a plan to do something about it.
