6 Subsidy Schemes Qatar government is providing all the livestock (including camels) owners with barely and wheat barns with discounted price (approx. 50% of the market price) All veterinary services are provided for livestock smallholder for free of charge

7 Camels feeding Camels depend on a ration of imported feed (oatmeal mixed with water, barley, etc. Racing camels have a special diet. They receive the best and the most nutritional feed, coming from outside Doha or from Qatar (barley and sorghum, barley and wheatbran, camel milk, cow milk, dates, dates mixed with wheatbran, honey, eggs, etc.).

18 In Summary Brucellosis is one of the most challenging disease in camels and causing significant negative impact on food safety, camel production, breeding and trading. The role of vectors in epidemiology of camel diseases is still not clear and needs further research More attention is required for public awareness and farmers education in terms of husbandry and biosecurity practices to avoid potential microbial risks More attention is also required for supporting research fields of diagnostic tests of camels diseases
