Bell Work_Sept. 22 nd Examples of dependent and independent variables in scientific experiments: What is the independent & dependent variables in each one? A scientist studies the impact of a drug on cancer. A scientist studies the impact of withholding affection on rats. A scientist studies how many days people can eat soup until they get sick.
2
A scientist studies the impact of a drug on cancer. The independent variables are the administration of the drug - the dosage and the timing. The dependent variable is the impact the drug has on cancer.
3
A scientist studies the impact of withholding affection on rats. The independent variable is the amount of affection. The dependent variable is the reaction of the rats.
4
A scientist studies how many days people can eat soup until they get sick. The independent variable is the number of days of consuming soup. The dependent variable is the onset of illness.

To Do Take a Note on Carbon with diagram & add to package... Book work today to work on chapter 2 part 2 By the end of class time, you need to be at least to the bottom of page 20. I will stamp.
11
Valence Electrons Take a Note: Valence Electrons: These are the electrons found in the last orbital going around the nucleus.
13
Note: diagram this carbon atom
14
Carbon has 4 valance electrons This means other atoms can easily attach to it. Gives carbon the ability to form long chains... And even close up on each other to form rings..
