Museums are great example of learning enviroments outside the classroom.

Co-operation with the art museum of Lappeenranta, Lappeenrannan taidemuseo The art museum of Lappeenranta wants to be brave and curious. The museum likes people a lot! The museum is an influential and it wants to work as an educator and be better and better with customers. Kirsi Rehunen, couple of teachers, workers of museum of Art planned together an art exhibition. Idea was that you can touch the art, go inside of the art, put art dresses on. The art museum wanted to get more children, old people and immigrants as a customers.
3
The problem: “The museums are expert with contens and museum service, but they do not have knowledge about pedagogy and education with pupils. How we should operate at museum when we have children as a customer?” Solution:”The museums need experience and vision what kind of museumservice are best and useful with children. We need feedback from children and from teachers when we want to do something in a new way. Together we can plan better and more relevant services.
4
Those who work at museums will get new ideas, new testgroups and new customers and more and more customers. On a larger scale we increase the knowledge of museums, the awareness of the work inside the museums with the co- operators. Children who are testing new ideas with us get to know museums and they are fond of to be the users of culture.
5
We cut material to the exhibiton of textil artist. Patrik did a great job. People could follow the purple ribbon From the central of Lappeenranta to the old town of Lappeenranta Museum of art. Accessibility! Is important. Päivi Partanen boss of the museum of art: ”It was astonishing to notice how you could follow the guideribbon to the museum. We are taking seriously the accessibility of our museum.
6
Also customers from the senior houses were able to participate the planning of the exhibition. The artist made a puzzle from their favourite pictures. Memory works like a puzzle. You will find the first piece and that will help you remember the next one. Soon you will get the memory in whole.

Please remember to taste variety of dishes. Please remember to go fishing.

Ideas before the project: Weakness: Not enough money, too many other projects Possibilities: New ways to work with customers Get new people come inside the museum Implication They know inside the museum: co-operation is important Threats: Museum can not be the playing field of children The people at museum thought this was bad idea and are not going to increase co-operation with customers. No implication After the project: Customers of museum got more customers to the museum. Happiness involved with the art and artist, relevance! The families of children, old people and immigrants visited museums many times.
