The Assignment – Useful Resources & Info Moodle News websites and resources Library books or other sources in your school What will my assignment look like? Your home city is thinking of bidding for a major sporting event – you have been employed to produce a professional evaluation of the impact of one of these on an urban area.

How do I succeed? I need to make sure I answer the big question, including all of the following important geographical information… Why did that place want the sporting event? What change happened in the city because of the event? What positive impacts did it have? What negative impacts did it have? Overall, was it worth it (in your opinion)? Why? Remember: Case study detail is always a winner in Geog!

Reflection and Evaluation Look at your work and the work of your classmates. Will your local city be hosting a major sporting event in the future? How well were the arguments presented? How strong was the evaluation?
