Immigration Why do people emigrate to the US (pull factors)? What did they want to escape (push factors)? Did people find the “golden door” upon arrival? Where do most immigrants usually go once they get to the US?

IMMIGRATION Most go to the cities in NE (Irish) or MidWest (Germans) Single women less likely to come— except Irish ADJUSTMENTS—lived according to ethnic background…want to live next to people from the same region CHILDREN ASSIMILATE
