2. THE FORBIDDEN WORD.. About 10 years ago – the first round. Learning about Dublin core, SDMX CEO decision – No investment at all.. in spite of that – several actions were taken, mainly regarding the SDMX that became the engine behind the action

3. 2010 – TURN POINT The IT department suggested to the CBS’s management to adopt the ‘widthwise data organizational infrastructure’, a basic tier as the base for IT development and organizational data, as part of the generic development method

5. WIDTHWISE DATA ORGANIZATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE The main elements are:  Dictionaries (code lists)  Parent variables  Meta data definitions : content quality administrative

6. META DATA’S PRINCIPLES A standard have been defined for the ICBS. The standard was based upon the following principles:  Rely on the existing internationals standards such as SDMX, DDI  Not too wide – friendly to the users  Meta data at file/time series/micro data level

7. CURRENT SITUATION De Facto standard was established for metadata A project for managing the dictionaries in a generic way was established. An application developed for managing and querying the code List of Parent variables have been established and was assimilated with in the IT group
