What do you know? How many of you know how much you weighed and how long you were when you were born? How much do you think the average full-term baby weighs? Length? How much do you think the biggest baby ever weighed? What do you think the smallest surviving baby ever weighed? Length? A fertilized egg that is beginning to divide is called an “embryo” and after two months, the developing baby is called a “fetus”.

How much money altogether did Jenna spend? 2. Tobias weighs 231 pounds and his friend Mark weighs 188 pounds. How much more does Tobias weigh? 3. On Tuesday, the track team ran.76 miles, on Wednesday they ran 1.3 miles, and on Thursday they ran 2.08 miles. What is their combined total of miles run?

Development Before Birth A. End of first month: about.33 inch long. Heart, brain, and lungs are forming. Heart begins to beat. B. End of second month: about 1 inch long. Skin and other organs are developing. Arms, fingers, legs, and toes are forming. C. End of third month: weighs about 1 ounce and is about 3 inches long. Can open and close mouth and swallow. Fetus begins to move around. D. End of fourth month: weighs about 6 ounces and is 5 inches long. Facial features become clearer. Movement can be felt. E. End of fifth month: weighs about 1 pound and is just under 10 inches long. Eyelashes and nails appear. Heartbeat can be heard.

F. End of sixth month: weighs about 1.5 pounds and is about 12.5 inches long. Develops ability to kick, cry, and perhaps hiccup. Fetus can hear sounds. Footprint appears. G. End of seventh month: weighs about 2 to 2.5 pounds and is about 14.5 inches long. Arms and legs can move freely. Eyes open. H. End of eighth month: weighs about 4 pounds and is about 18 inches long. Hair gets longer. Skin becomes smoother. I. End of ninth month: Weighs 6-9 pounds and is 18-21 inches long. Body organs have developed enough to function on their own.
