The wild bird is my brother, He sits in yonder tree, And all day long a merry song He sweetly sings to me.

The wild flowers are my sisters They dwell in lane and lea; With faces fair, and sweet, and rare, They nod and smile at me.

The green earth is my mother, Gently she beckons me, Till on her breast I sink to rest, And slumber peacefully.
