West Virginia GIS Conference WV Postal Conversion Status 2016 Update 47 counties have reached the 95% or better conversions with the USPS. 6 out of the remaining 8 counties are making great progress and should reach the 95% plateau later this year or definitely by 1 st quarter in 2017. USPS has gone to great lengths to get this part of the address conversion project done over the past 2-3 years.

West Virginia GIS Conference WV Telephone Conversion Status 2016 Update MSAG Address/Telco Database conversion process that was originally started by Verizon but is now overseen by Frontier Communications. This conversion process has taken a lot longer due to the USPS address conversion process. 18 counties have completed this process (Pocahontas is included even though they maintain their own database). 24 counties are in progress of working on their databases while 5 counties are pending with Frontier. The remaining counties will began work once all their address conversions have been completed. Overall goal is to have their 911 center become enhanced so that when a call comes into dispatch, the caller’s address and telephone number will be a match thus will help with dispatching the appropriate service needed.
