2. THE STORY OF JOB  The story begins with Satan entering the courts of God. God mentions how great Job is but Satan says he only follows God because his life is good.  God allows Satan to take away his possessions but not harm him. Even though Job loses all his possessions and his family, he still worships God.

3. THE STORY OF JOB (CONTINUED)  Satan again goes to God to talk about Job. Satan says Job would curse God if he was harmed and so Satan is allowed to harm Job.  Satan afflicts Job with a terrible skin disease and all his friends tell him to curse God, but still Job worships him  The story ends with God blessing Job with twice as much as he had before, blessing the rest of his life

4. HOW DOES GOD REVEAL HIMSELF  God doesn’t do anything to Job in this story, instead He just allows Satan to test Job. God gives Satan almost total control over Job and his possessions. The Bible reveals God when Satan enters into His presence.

5. WHO ARE THE HUMAN CHARACTER?  The human characters in this story are Job and his close friends/family. Despite all his close advisors tell him to curse God and abandon Him when things get hard, Job stays faithful and worships him. All of Job’s friends and his wife tell him to curse God but he doesn’t listen.

6. HOW DOES THIS FORESHADOW JESUS CHRIST?  Even though Job has everything taken away from him, symbolic of Jesus’ death, God restores him in a similar way to Jesus’ resurrection.
