2 Schinello Chiara and Spadaro Alessia Elizabeth I was Queen of England and Ireland for 44 years. She never married because England was her husband. While she was Queen, English sailors travelled to north and south America,Shakespeare’s plays were very successful on the stage and her country was rich and powerful.

3 Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of USA. He was against slavery and he was the leader of the north in the American Civil War. The north was the winner of the war and Congress freed all American slaves. Saja Riccardo and Boncoddo Giuseppe

4 Scolaro Miriam and Viola Arianna During Queen Victoria’s long reign Britain became the most powerful country in the world. She married Albert, German prince, and their marriage was happy. In 1876 she also became Empress of India. When Queen Victoria died, Britain was the global power of the time, with such a huge Empire that “the sun never set on it”.

6 I have a DREAM! Burgio Vanessa & Vinci Alessia Martin Luther King was the leader of the American Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. In 1963 he delivered a famous speech about equality for black people. In 1968, James Earl Ray killed him. Over 300,000 people were at Martin Luther King’s funeral.

9 Tringali Asia, Joseph Jemimah and Pollicino Simona In 1932 Amelia Earhart was the first woman pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In 15 hours she travelled from Canada to Ireland.In 1937 she tried to fly around the world but she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean.
