PARTI mission The main goal of the PARTI is to introduce the students from universities of the former Soviet Union to the accelerators physics, Fermilab, and the life in the USA The main hope is that some of you will end up working in accelerators physics and technology Including Fermilab Also, it may persuade some of you to continue education in US 2 Finally, living and working here may give you an idea how to improve life back in your countries and research in your labs Such exchanges improve understanding between nations

Program Assignment – you will be working on a research project under supervision of a lab expert 6 We recommend to finish the internship by writing a paper Group note in a publicly accessible data base Summary of simulations, description of a developed procedure etc. Co-authorship of a conference report or an article Weekly meetings- Wednesdays 1PM Lectures Tours Fermilab seminars and colloquiums Information is available through the PARTI web page

Schedule: lectures Introduction to accelerators- Leo Michelotti Specially for PARTI Five lectures : July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 at 1PM First lecture is (July 10) is at Snakepit WH2NE All are asked to attend the first lecture Further attendance is recommended but not required Summer lecture series (http://ed.fnal.gov/interns/lectures/)http://ed.fnal.gov/interns/lectures/ Tuesdays at noon Organized specially for summer interns of different levels Attendance is strongly encouraged Lectures are supposed to be combined with your lunch Driving safety seminar Today, June 27, 5:30 PM in the Users' Center Music Room All are required to attend 8
