2 Participial Phrases Vs. Gerund Phrases  Participial Phrase: Grumbling to himself, the teacher got on everyone’s nerves.  Participial Phrase: The teacher, grumbling to himself, got on everyone’s nerves.  Gerund Phrase: The teacher was grumbling to himself and getting on everyone’s nerves.

That sentence will need to have an underlined participial phrase. Each person will share their sentence (making sure to point out the phrase) with the class.
