6.  They were comparing 2 people or things.  In English when we want to compare 2 people or things we use the ending “-er” on an adjective  For example, we talk about how somone or something is bigger, smaller, nicer, cheaper, etc.

7.  In French we talk about how something is either “ more”, “less”, or the same as  So, we need to use these expressions plus…. que moins … que aussi…. que

8.  Please note the structure. All of these expressions follow the same pattern:  plus ___adjective ___ que  moins ___adjective ___ que  aussi ___adjective ___ que  Please note also that the word “que” is an absolute necessity when making a comparsion.  It means “than” or “as” depending on the context.

9. We use the structure of plus (adjective) que…. when we are talking about something is bigger, smaller, nicer, younger, older, etc. Exemple: Je suis plus grande que ma soeur. Ma soeur est plus petite que moi.

12. For example, in French, if I say Ma robe est moins chère que mon blouson. I am saying that my dress is less expensive than my jacket.

13.  You use the expression aussi… que when you are saying that two things are equal.  Example: Robbie est aussi grand que Liam. In this sentence, we are saying that Robbie and Liam are the same size.

14.  Just as in English, we do not say that something is “more good” in French.  Instead we use the word “meilleur”.  The word “ meilleur” means better. It is the irregular form of “ bon”  It agrees in gender and number meilleur (s) = masculine meilleure (s) = feminine
