HEMOSTASIS A.C.KAROBIA
2
HEMOSTASIS-definition Arrest of bleeding by: -Normal vasoconstriction -Abnormal obstruction -Coagulation or surgical means.
3
Disorders of hemostasis -Leads to an increased risk of bleeding (hemorrhage) -Obstructive clotting
4
Stages of Hemostasis
5
Secondary Hemostasis cascade Phase 1: Extrinsic and intrinsic pathways produce prothrombinase. Phase 2: Prothrombinase converts prothrombin to thrombin Phase 3: Thrombin converts soluble fibrinogen into insoluble fibrin which is the thread of the clot.
6
Coagulation screening Basic Screen tests –Platelet count –bleeding time for platelet function –Prothrombin ratio (PR) for extrinsic pathway –Activated Partial Thromboplastin time (Aptt) for the intrinsic pathway –Fibrinogen assay for final common pathway
7
Coagulation screening specific factor assays - D-dimer - Thrombin time
8
Chem-labs solution to coagulation screening Analyzer: HumaClot Junior Reliable Technology „Available at Chem labs“
9
Page 9 HumaClot Junior Highlights Latest technology No use of mixing bars Only 50% of reagent consumption per test No lamp replacement (due to LEDs)
10
HumaClot Junior Highlights Highly reliable and durable system Maintenance free Autosensing optics eliminates interference (e. g. from Bilirubin)
11
HumaClot Junior Highlights Compact design and light weight Auto-start function Convenient test procedures Stop-watch functions Multi-language software (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese)
12
HumaClot Junior Highlights Profile testing (PT, aPTT, FIB,TT,D-DIMER) Optional electronical pipette Optional printer Optional barcode scanner RS232 interface for data transfer (LIMS) Built in incubator One channel Led technology
