6. This is a simple way to use “words” without having to actually speak. It gives directions using pictures. Kiddos with language difficulties have a hard time processing your “words” but, can understand pictures.

7. Child can communicate his/her needs and wants with pictures in their vocabulary book. You will notice it says “I want” and then the child adds the item to the strip. The idea is that the child will communicate without us asking, they will spontaneously and independently communicate.
