CAIS Estimating Module Condition Assessment Information System Prepared by Adam Pugh and Mark Gordy FIMS Annual Training May 10-12, 2016
2
Estimating Module Overview One of the many advantages of CAIS is the integration of RS Means costing data There is a need by many Sites to calculate estimates for repairs/replacements of deficiencies as well as modifying existing building models for the purpose of developing a custom RPV Custom RPV values could then be exported to FIMS Condition Assessment Information System 2
3
Estimating Module Overview This can all be accomplished with the new CAIS Cost Estimating Module that will utilize the full range of RS Means costing data With this cost estimating module, estimates can be calculated for: Components (Master Format is CostWorks) Assembly Custom DOE RS Means Building RPV Model Condition Assessment Information System 3
4
Estimating Module Overview Developing custom RPV models offers many advantages Eliminates the need to recreate a custom model annually Model cost can be automatically updated with the annual RS Means costing feed Ability to store custom RPV models to share with other Sites Cost estimates can be saved and easily exported to Excel Will be designed as an easy to use tool for users of any level Condition Assessment Information System 4
5
Estimating Module Overview Estimates will be maintained in a separate module in CAIS May result in reducing the reliance Sites have on CostWorks Condition Assessment Information System 5
