The following presentation is to give guidance on the completion of the e-portfolio notebook and then the inputting of comments into pupils’ e-portfolio in GLOW. You will require a GLOW username and password to access the website. This information is available from the school office.

E-Portfolio Pupil/Parent Guidance Using your e-portfolio Notebook or Diary Planner. You will use the notes you make in your e- portfolio notebook or your diary planner to input data into your e-portfolio. The statements you make will record your latest and best achievements. It will allow you to keep a personal record your progress and achievements.

The following slides show exemplar pages from the e- portfolio notebook. It is important to note the placing of the comments, so that they will be tagged in the correct category. These are indicated at the bottom of each of the boxes. The School diary/planner has additional information on profiles and skills for learning, life and work, starting on page 35.

Insert the level of the course i.e N5 Note comments on the skills and knowledge you are developing in this curricular area, mention successes you have already achieved, give some examples but keep the statements short. Refer to your diary planner for Starter Stems, page 38. Examples: I have improved my understanding of different cultures and religions and have listened to other people’s opinions in class. In Chemistry I have developed my skills in multiple choice in tests and exams by doing extra revision at home and double checking my answers, this has also helped me in other subjects with multiple choice questions. I managed to pass my History Int 2 NAB 16/18, which is a solid pass. I didn’t managed to finish my 8 mark essay but I kept within the time limit. I have managed to pick an item that I will recreate on the computer and have in my brochure. I have worked on my own so far and I am able to discover new ways to change my item on the computer.

Insert comments on achievements outside of school. Mention activities and clubs you are involved in. Highlight particular accomplishments you have been proud of over the last few years. Example: Later this year I am going to Switzerland with the Guides and so to raise funds I helped to bag pack in Muirend. We were in the Sainburys for 3 hours and raised over £300 for our trip to Switzerland.

Note achievements where you have applied your literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing skills. Give particular examples; this might be through school trips, extra-curricular activities or enterprise activities such as The Rapid Response Challenge. I used my note taking and research skills in RME to follow the ExPlore approach when I was researching Martin Luther King. This resulted in my research essay achieving all the relevant outcomes successfully.
