WHAT ARE THE G.R.A.P.E.S.? “G” stands for “Geography” “R” stands for “Religion” “A” stands for “Achievements” “P” stands for “Politics” “E” stands for “Economics” “S” stands for “Social Structures”

Geography Geography is the study of the earth and its features. It also includes where different types of life are located on the earth, including human life.

RELIGION Religion is the spiritual practices, customs, and beliefs a particular group of people use to worship a “higher being.” Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism are a few examples.

Achievements Achievements are things that a society accomplish that make them memorable. Achievements include: Writing, Drama (Theater, Movies, Television), Painting, Sculpture, Architecture, Fashion, Music, Etc.

POLITICS Politics is the study of government or the control and organization of large groups of people. Politics usually refers to how a city, a state, or a country is governed and their relationship with other cities, states, and countries.

economics Economics is the study of the production, distribution, and consumption of material goods or services. Examples include trading “this for that” or “I’ll give you $1 for a Coke.”

social structures Social Structures include groups of people interacting with each other on a personal level, such as families or groups of friends.
