Spread of Eugenics to Germany Many German doctors started to study eugenics Eugenics in the U.S. received much attention from Germany  Very shortly after, they had wanted to create a National Euthanasia program.  In addition to euthanasia, German doctors had wanted to sterilize many people  This includes many of Germany’s doctors and nurses

5. Sterilization  Law passed in 1933 making sterilization legal in Germany  In one year, Germany sterilized more people with mental illnesses than the U.S. in decades

6. Euthanasia  In 1939, the National Euthanasia program was founded  It was continued until 1941  More than 70,000 German citizens were killed  Many German doctors had continued to euthanize their patients after 1941
