1. OPTION 1: CREATIVE ARTS & HUMANITIES. *Geography Make a survey of the foods in your cupboards / fridge at home. Which country do they come from? Which foods have travelled the furthest? Create your homework on paper or as an A4 poster so it can be put on display. Geography Look at home and in the shops. What items can you spot that have the Fair Trade logo on them? Make a list. Are they more expensive than similar items that are not Fair Trade? If so, why do you think that is and do you think it is worth it? Art This term we will be writing our own fantasy stories. These stories are often set in imaginary worlds. Your homework is to design and create a picture of the fantasy setting you might want to include in your story (A4 sized maximum please). You could use pencils, paints, collage or any art materials to create your setting. You could even make a 3D model out of plasticine, lego or other bits and bobs. We can then display these in our classrooms to inspire excellent writing. Write a poem or song about one of your favourite animals. Make it at least 2 verses and illustrate it. OPTION 2: LITERACY, MATHS & SCIENCE. Mental Maths Questions on back of sheet. Work the answers out mentally, but you may choose to make jottings to help you. (Substitute with harder numbers if your child finds this too easy) *English – By Monday 18 th April Next week in English we will be writing our own ‘Deadly 60’ non-chronological reports. Your homework this week is to choose your favourite ‘deadly’ creature and find out all about it to help you in your work at school. Things to find out: Classification – what family of creatures does it belong to? (reptile, fish, mammal, insect, amphibian… Carnivore/ Omnivore, Herbivore) Habitat – Where does it live? What part of the world? What conditions does it like? Appearance. – Size? How is it camouflaged/ Suited to its environment? What makes it deadly?
