7. INPUTTING THE PART (CHORDS) MUSIC TECH

Make sure you have a blank part set up and the pointer icon selected. Double-click on the empty part to start inputting your chords

For chords you need to zoom-in to the ‘C3’ area of the piano keyboard Now grab a pen from the tool bar and you are ready to put in the pitches

First put in the correct pitch at the start of the bar for each chord note. They are put on top of each other because they are all played at the same time.

Now select the pointer and left click and drag around all three notes to select them (they all turn black when selected)

Hover over the end of one of the notes and the cursor changes to a double arrow

Left click and drag this to extend the note lengths to the correct length in this case right to the end of the bar (the white part of the screen). All three selected notes will extend close the edit screen when you have completed the bar

Inside the chords part you created you should be able to see chords you have inputted. You are now ready to compose the rest of the chord parts.
