6. Veneu Island Flag and Description This is a flag of the Veneu Island. The shell in the middle stands for beauty and the shape of our island while yellow represents money, gold, and our biome: the desert. Green stands for faith and freedom, blue stands for clear and clean water, and red stands for peace and love. As you can see, these colors represent our country!

8. Major Historical Event Independence War By: Emily Chiang (Core #1) Mr. Edwards The War of Independence for Veneu Island was a very important event because it made our island what it is today. Firstly, in 1725, Mexican raiders started coming over to conquer smaller islands, like Veneu. The Mexican raiders were so strong that they captured many of our cities. In the end, Veneu had to surrender and Mexico ruled Veneu. This is why Veneu people still speak Spanish and use Mexican money. After a few years, people began talking of war. Men and boys started to train, weapons were prepared, and women and girls stored stocks of food. Armies, safety squads, and spies started entering the Mexican territory. They caused havoc, burning ships, and generally showing their disdain towards the Mexicans. All this increased tensions and led to dire consequences. Finally, Mexico declared war. Armies met on borders and battled furiously, each fighting with every drop of strength for their own country. Veneu natives used tactics such as dropping boiling water on the enemy, bucking the enemy off their horses, and hiding behind bushes for protection. It was because of these smart tactics and their determination that Veneu became a free country in 1750. The War of Independence was one of the most glorious and saddest wars fought in Veneu history. It put our island in great turmoil, but because of the Mexicans, our armies gained new knowledge concerning military advances in fighting and technology. The War of Independence changed Veneu’s customs, religion, and daily life.
