Does adding a zero to progress monitoring change the trend line? Yes, We typically these are considered no data days and a score is not entered. It is best to put a comment indicating that the student was absent. You also could create another chart to actually chart the attendance if that is an issue.

Does SuccessMaker offer progress monitoring. Succesmaker is a computer adapted program for the areas of reading and math. You are able to run a daily progress report that indicated, current grade equivalency gains and also shows percent correct. It is not designed to be a progress monitoring tool but does show growth. You are also able to create customize courses for students.

Do you use AIMS web? We do not use AIMS Web.

What are your windows for MAP testing? We benchmark test our students three times a year. September, January and May. The window is open for approximately three weeks.

Is a customized learning plan the same as a Milepost plan? No, We chose to create our own customized learning plan to match our RTI process and expectations.

How is attendance imported into Milepost? Attendance is not imported into Milepost. We pull this data from our student information system.

How do we determine who is responsible for inputing data? Whoever is responsible for the intervention is responsible for entering the progress monitoring data.

What are we trying to accomplish Great to have data but…….. Usable Assessable Used to make instructional decisions Tool should only help manage an existing process RTI- Problem Solving Meetings

Response to Intervention Strong Leadership/building level team Research based programs and practices Ongoing assessment District assessments Benchmark assessments Data based decision making Collaborative teaming Create a plan- With measureable goals Progress monitoring Fidelity of implementation Ongoing professional development Parent Involvement

Why Milepost? Student data Teachers need more granular information Need real-time data Must measure student growth over time Multiple data sets Need an easy-to-use system Needs to be instructionally relevant Adequate growth (acceleration lines)

What are the functions that support this? Classroom Assessments District Assessments Intervention and Customization Strategies Plan Management Communication (Team, Transition, Parent) Data-informed instruction and support for all students Data For Learning

Our teacher Erica Smith Mrs. Smith has been teaching 4th and 5th graders for the past six years. She currently has a class of 28 fifth graders. She works in a high poverty elementary school and sees many struggling learners. She spends hours a week pulling information from a variety of sources to find out where each of her students are currently performing and working on strategies for how she can better support their learning needs.

A student in Mrs. Smith’s class Mark Rivers Mark is a fifth grader who has grown up here in town. He has a great group of friends and neither shines nor lags behind in class. He is a solid student with good work ethic. This year, Mark has started to struggle with math. His grades are starting to suffer and his test scores are lower than usual.

What will the intervention look like? (Identify specific program(s) if appropriate.) When will the intervention happen? Where will the intervention happen?
