3 CRIGS – key activities Support for projects; – Identification of funding sources for projects – Preparation and submission of project bids – Project contract negotiation – Commercialisation/dissemination of project outcomes

4 CRIGS – key activities Support for building relationships; –Promotion of links with business and community organisations/agencies –Providing portal for access to UWE expertise –Development of regional activities and strategic relations –Marketing and publicity for expertise

5 CRIGS – key activities Support for strategic development –Development of Research and Knowledge Exchange strategies –Preparation for Research Assessment Exercise –Staff development in research and knowledge exchange –Generic skills development for research students

6 Supporting Research : Bid Team Key areas of activity: Support for research, education, consultancy and CPD bidding (through various means) Coordination of the project approval system – PA/CRISP Some strategic input at faculty level Lead or assist with University wide strategic bids Explore and disseminate funding opportunities Liaise with funders, facilitate links

7 Bid Team Key areas of activity (cont): RAE – preparation for 2008, and beyond Research policy – development of a new research strategy and research governance arrangements, support for new Research & KE Committee (and subcommittees) Research training – delivery of ‘Roberts’ agenda, support for SPRS/Graduate Studies Committee Wider representation – external and internal groups Event organisation – European funding event 5 th Dec 06
