2 Purpose of the Early Intervention Panel (EIP) The EIP was developed to identify young people who are on the cusp of Anti Social Behaviour or offending to: 1.Prevent – ASB or Offending 2.Support – and Challenge Young People 3.Protect – The community

7 93% success rate in the interventions provided Significant fall in first time entrants to the criminal justice system Reduction in the fear of crime - from 37.5% to 33% Significant fall in the number of robberies

8 Challenges faced by the panel Ownership of referrals Getting timely information No funding = very limited street based response Venue….
