1 William "Boss" Tweed Aaron Partida U.S. History Period 1 10/22/12

2 Youtube notes Tweed took $13 million dollars out of taxpayers money on a $3 million dollar project. Thomas Nast and Tweed were bond throught history. Thomas Nast drew a lot of political cartoons of what he thought about William Tweed. Tweed was eventually put in jail. Ironically it was a jail that he built. One day he was able to sneak past the gaurds and escape the prison.

3 Afer he broke out he saught out refuge in spain. He was eventually captured because a police officer recognized him from one of Thomas Nast's political cartoons of William Tweed. Many people he had working for him had wierd nick names one was so bad but funny i cannot put it in his slide show or i'd get in trouble. William Tweed was able to gain control and power and was able to maintain and keep that control and power for a very long time.

4 Thomas Nast Political Cartoon I believe Thomas drew this political cartoon to show the William Tweed will attack anyone. It is also portraying him as a devil or a nightmare coming true to this poor man. I also believe that he drew this to show everyone the William Tweed was an awful man and would hesitate to attack you if you got on his bad side. It seemed like he was trying to warn the American society of him or to stand up but they were to scared.
