3. Discussion - History ICWES was originally conceived by SWE in 1958 SWE hosted ICWES1 in 1964 in New York SWE hosted ICWES7 in 1984 in Wash, DC Had been organized by an International Committee until INWES was formed in 2003 SWE had considered ICWES12 in 2002

Discussion - Strategic International component of SWE’s vision has grown in Strategic Plans since 1998 SWE is seen as influential leader in the global women engineering environment Goal #4 – Inclusive Global Community Also supports International Membership Taskforce and members working abroad Sharing Best Practices on a global scale!
