4 There are about 3000 pp’s on airside At Toronto Pearson our electricians replace about 40 -50 pullpits every year. Most of the damage is done by our friends – Lawn movers

5 Have to do something to protect these PP’s

6 How to protect them 1. Lower them 2. Grade around them 3. Educate the operators 4.Mark them with markers 5. Tried another idea to use turf around the PP

23 Result This was tried at two locations about three years ago and still in good shape. According to the company the material should last at least 12 years. The material is FAA approved to be used at airports. It is not something you can buy from Home Depot. Not a cheap product and also involves quite bit labor. This may be installed in critical areas and also you don’t need to cover such a big area but we did for a trial
