3
Aspirations….. A publication of interest to the HRD practitioner ……and the academic Contributions which appeal to the ‘thinking’ HRD practitioner Reflective accounts of practice In this way of interest to a wider constituency of HRD professionals
4
Thinking about an HRD initiative…practice, policy….local, national…. Not just “This is what we did and this is what happened” BUT “This is what we did …..and our rationale was…” “What worked well…why ?.... what did we get right?” “What didn’t work so well…why? What remains problematic? What questions remain?”
5
Thinking about an HRD initiative… This might be: A training and development programme An evaluation A new learning initiative A policy initiative: …e.g. apprenticeship; young people; women; middle managers; strategic HRD …at local or national level This identifies the focus of a potential contribution
6
And then developing this focus into an ‘account’ of practice….. Not just “This is what we did and this is what happened” BUT “This is what we did …..and our rationale was…” “What worked well…why ?.... what did we get right?” “What didn’t work so well…why? What remains problematic? What questions remain?”
7
And in this way contribution addresses… “What have we learnt that might be of interest / value to the thinking HRD professional wherever they operate?”
