Topic Calculate the Area Aims To calculate the area, perimeter and volume of ojects in the room To convert measurements between the metric system To use the formulae efficiently Level Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2 Method An icebreaker at the beginning of a Maths Lesson, the students are to measure the area, perimeter and volume of objects in the classroom. The students like to be able to move around and measure real items in the room. The formulae seemed more real using the real items. Equipment Hand-out Pens Calculators (if to be used), Paper to work out measurement, tape measure, ruler Duration > 30 Minutes
