FACTOR-LABELS Make a fraction from the equivalence statement One side goes on top of the other There are two factor-labels for each equivalence statement Both equal 1 (one as the number) Ex: 1inch/2.5cm or 2.5cm/1inch

CHANGE THE UNIT Multiply the quantity you know by one of the factor-labels Which one? The one that will help you cancel the unit you are trying to get rid of example 30 inches to cm 30inch x 2.5cm / 1inch 30 x 2.5 /1 cm = 75 cm
