Who uses the data? National Church: annual statistics reports Diocesan House: parish share, grant funding Local churches: grant applications, mission planning

The Diocese of Canterbury Nationally: Number of people attending church weekly drops below 1million for the fist time. 2.4 million attend at Christmas and 1.3 million at Easter Just under 1,000 weddings, 2,000 baptisms, and almost 3,000 funerals every. 12% of births were marked by a Church of England infant baptism or thanksgiving and 31% of deaths were marked by a Church of England funeral

The Diocese of Canterbury Diocese of Canterbury: Approximately 19,000 people attending weekly (-1.3% from 2013) Nearly 54,000 attended at Christmas (+2.5%) and approx 27,000 at Easter (+4.5%) 1,107 marriages (-3.5) Around 2,600 baptisms (-5.5% infants, -11.5% adults) 1,135 church funerals (-1%)

The Diocese of Canterbury Questions we’re grappling with How do we make better use of our data at diocesan, deanery and parish levels? How can we collect data in more consistent ways? How can we make sense of the data we have? How can churches and deaneries better use their data to access funding and plan mission work? How can we equip churches and deaneries to own and understand their data better?
