Its Importance Its Author Its Date Its Interpretation Allegorical- States that the prophecies are spiritualized into principles (ignores Rev. 1:19). Symbolism Preterist- States that the book is a symbolic history of conflicts between the early church and Rome at the time of John. Historical- States that it is a summary of church history through the Second Coming. “Progressive fulfillment.” Futuristic- States that the prophesies of Revelation are for the most part future in fulfillment. We are “blessed” if we heed God’s Revelation (vs. 3) Let us not forget who Jesus is (vs. 5-18) Let us not forget what Jesus has done for us (vs. 5, 6) Those who are abused for the testimony of Christ are greatly used by Him (vs. 9) Christ’s great interest is in the local New Testament church (vs. 11, 13, 20) So What?!
