What is Withdrawal? Involves whole church – 1 Cor. 5:4 “Deliver unto Satan” – 1 Cor. 5:5 “Not to company with” – 1Cor. 5:9 Not even to eat with – 1 Cor. 5:11 Note (mark) and Avoid – 2 Thess. 3:14; Rom. 16:17

What is Withdrawal? “It is not primarily that of cutting a man off, or denouncing him, or excommunicating him; it is that of withdrawing from him. We cease to have fellowship with him. We do not regard him any longer as a Christian brother. We separate from him.” (Albert Barnes) “Punishment” – 2 Cor. 2:6

Objections Some Make “Drives them away” “You’re judging” John 8:7 Won’t do any good “It’s family” or “We’re so close” They will go to another church

What Must I Do To Be Saved? Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17) Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30) Confess your faith (Matthew 10:32) Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
