Professional Background I am a third year math and science teacher at an inner city school in Memphis, TN. I love my job! I choose to teach at an inner city school because I know that they need me the most. I enjoy seeing them learn and interact with each other.

Educational Background I went to an inner city school in Elementary. In Middle and High School, I had the opportunity to attend an optional schools that offered honors classes in which I took advantage of. I also loved Math, so I was always placed in advance Math classes. I graduated in 2003. Went to school to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician and stayed in that field for 6 years until I realized I truly wanted to be a Educator. Became a Educator in March 2013.
5
Leader Experience I am the grade level chair for my current grade level and the math department for the school. I also lead professional developments often to the faculty at my school.

My Future I hope to one day attain a position as Instructional Facilitator or Teacher Mentor to new teachers. What was the challenge you experienced? The most challenging thing for me was trying to balance family, work, and school. How did you overcome it? I overcame this challenge by putting my mind to it, and staying focus on my goals. How did the experience sharpen your knowledge and/or skill in teaching and learning? This experience refreshed a lot of the skills and things that I learned in undergrad and taught me some new things to incorporate into my new lessons and methods of teaching.
