3  Gentrification = “The production of space for progressively more affluent users” (Hackworth, 2002)  Changes in demographic composition and cultural life of a neighborhood  The problem with gentrification is the displacement of poor and working class households.

4 “Positive gentrification ” is a misnomer. The goal should be development without displacement.
