2 The Blue Shiner and Its Habitat o Lives in South- Eastern area of US o Scientific name is cyprinella caerulea o Freshwater habitat o It has diamond shaped scales

3 Population o Pollution and floods causes them to decrease o Adult population is unknown o Past ten years have been declining o 1990, species represented by 6 populations (Not all of these have good viability)

4 Why It’s Endangered And Basic Needs Air pollution, oil spills(both caused by us humans) Flood control Silts(its clogging their egg-laying crevices) Fresh, clean water Algae Crevices

5 How The Basic Needs Are Usually Met Algae formed at the bottom and sides of ponds and pools, which is food for them River they live in provides clean water River provides protection Crevices for eggs (Continues the population)

People could swim with the Blue Shiners(Wouldn’t you like too?)
